Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a long-established precision manufacturer in the St. Louis area. This organization specializes in producing highly accurate, close-tolerance components for aerospace, defense, and other advanced industries, supporting both domestic and allied customers.
Compensation
$80,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on skills and experience

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in developing, optimizing, and supporting production processes across machining operations. This role improves manufacturability, enhances quality, increases efficiency, and supports successful new product launches.
Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings, models, and specifications to develop Bills of Materials, outside-processing requirements, and efficient manufacturing workflows.
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and tooling/fixture plans; ensure ERP data is accurate and up to date.
- Lead root-cause investigations to address production issues and drive scrap reduction, downtime reduction, and overall process improvements.
- Support CNC machining optimization, tooling design, and new product introduction activities.
- Collaborate with programming, quality, and production teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Champion lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, setup reduction, and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, preferably within aerospace, defense, or precision machining environments.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, GD&T, and process documentation.
- Experience with lean methodologies, root-cause analysis, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced production environment.
