Our Client is seeking an accomplished IT Director – OpenShift Platform to lead the strategy, delivery, and continuous evolution of a global enterprise container platform. This leader will champion innovation, operational excellence, and platform resilience while shaping the future of containerized application environments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in OpenShift, strong technology leadership, and a proven ability to drive large-scale transformation across complex ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the development, testing, monitoring, and enhancement of an internal control environment—including preventative and detective controls—to effectively mitigate risk.
- Build and guide a high-performing team through recruiting, coaching, development, performance management, and ongoing support.
- Establish documentation standards and quality-assurance methodologies across technology support functions, ensuring consistent adherence and operational excellence.
- Lead the evaluation and end-to-end analysis of business processes, technology capabilities, and improvement opportunities.
- Define and track KPIs, KRIs, and other metrics to measure and optimize technology support performance.
- Develop a multi-year roadmap to operationalize technology strategy, including measurable outcomes and key milestones.
- Manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring responsible financial stewardship while enabling innovation.
- Lead availability management efforts using strong change and incident management principles to maintain high reliability.
- Partner across organizational units to influence business strategy and align technology capabilities to future needs.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and ensure the environment remains agile and adaptable to evolving technologies.
- Build trusted relationships with IT and business leaders to ensure cost-effective, high-value technology support services.
- Contribute to third-party vendor strategy and oversee vendor engagements, contract management, and performance.
- Ensure risks are identified, monitored, and controlled in alignment with compliance and regulatory standards.
What You Have
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 8+ years in technology roles, including at least 3 years in leadership within software engineering, infrastructure, or related domains.
- Experience managing full technology lifecycles—from requirements and design to development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure services, data platforms, or application development environments.
- Experience conducting cost-benefit analysis and leveraging insights to drive technology decisions.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts through clear, compelling storytelling.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities in high-pressure environments and proactively resolving issues.
- Ability to build a culture of accountability, quality, and operational excellence.
- Experience managing vendor contracts and distributed teams.
- Financial acumen with hands-on experience in budgeting and forecasting.
- Strong facilitation, collaboration, and executive-level communication skills.
- Demonstrated success driving vision, strategy, and organizational change.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, SAFe, and relevant regulatory requirements.
