About The Role
We’re seeking a
Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive process efficiency, quality improvement, and operational performance across a manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll lead Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, work cross-functionally with production teams and leadership, and develop systems that foster a culture of continuous progress.
This position combines hands-on process optimization with strategic problem-solving, offering an opportunity to make a measurable impact on safety, productivity, and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Process Optimization:
- Facilitate and lead continuous improvement (CI) projects across departments using Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and other methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve process flow, and enhance operational efficiency.
Standardization & Documentation:
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Conduct internal audits, track nonconformities, and implement corrective actions.
Training & Coaching:
- Support employee development through CI training and hands-on instruction.
- Coach teams on problem-solving, process mapping, and data-driven decision-making.
Performance Measurement:
- Collect and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct post-project reviews to validate sustainability and long-term results.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with production, quality, and management teams to align improvement projects with business goals.
- Support safety and quality initiatives by integrating CI practices into daily operations.
Supervisory Support:
- May oversee or provide direction to a small team of exempt employees.
- Participate in workforce planning, performance feedback, and departmental coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Proven experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other CI tools and methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple levels of an organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data analysis, and reporting tools
