We are searching for a motivated & experienced Building Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for an extensive range of work, in the repair and general maintenance of the facilities, buildings, and equipment under general supervision. Execute work within established procedures and process under both verbal and written instructions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: include the following
- Performing repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks
- Repairing and treating structures such as floors, sinks, walls, carpets and roofs.
- Performing minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of locks on cabinets, doors, and desks.
- Servicing kitchen, appliances, and reporting mechanical malfunctions.
- Moving and assisting in transportation of furniture and equipment such as breaking down cubicle partitions, exercising discretion to identify projects that require higher skilled services.
- Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.).
- Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
- "Food Safety and Quality is everyone's responsibility. You must report any Food Safety and Quality issues to your Shift Manager, Supervisor or Quality employee."
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- As part of your supervisory responsibility and as a back-up, supervisors must be able to do your work in ways that ensure safe food. You must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code
Requirements:
- Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Should be able to follow Oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships
- Have a GED or education in any field from an accredited school.
- 3 years of experience with facility maintenance.
- Efficient with Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting
