About the client and role
Our client, an automotive Tier 1 supplier, is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead their global information technology organization. The IT Director will be responsible for overseeing all technology operations and managing a global team of IT professionals, contractors, and consultants.
This role ensures the company’s IT strategy aligns with business objectives while maintaining strong cybersecurity, system reliability, and scalability across international sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage global IT operations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and organizational goals.
- Develop and implement IT policies, systems, and procedures to support business growth.
- Direct key IT areas including cybersecurity, infrastructure, software development, system administration, and service desk operations.
- Conduct and document disaster recovery tests for all critical systems.
- Design and manage cybersecurity programs aligned with NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks.
- Evaluate and implement infrastructure and software solutions that improve business efficiency and security.
- Oversee major technology projects, including ERP/MRP migrations and global software rollouts.
- Manage IT budgets and control expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable contracts.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership and department heads to identify technology needs and solutions.
- Supervise the selection, implementation, and integration of software tools and enterprise systems.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across the IT function.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience as an IT Director with global or multi-site responsibility.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software management.
- Experience implementing and managing frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
- Demonstrated success managing ERP or MRP system migrations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage IT budgets and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% as required.
