TRANSPORTATION DISPATCH AND OPERATIONS SUPPORT
I. Objective of the Position:
To provide end-to-end Transportation Operations support for the successful execution of the replenishment distribution process of Direct Store Deliveries (DSD), Warehouse (WHSE), and Outside Orders. To provide Dispatch functions in support of the Transportation Manager and provide operational coverage of Bimbo QSR Ohio (BQOH) and Third-Party Logistics (3PL) activities throughout the entire Bimbo QSR US (BQUS) enterprise. Assist in the execution of growth plans, driver training, and equipment requirements in order to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Assist the Customer Service Supervisor in the day-to-day execution of the Customer Service roles and responsibilities. Assist the Transportation Safety Manager in administration and compliance objectives. Assist in providing process coverage to the Transportation Department during extended operating hours.
ll. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Fleet and Driver Dispatching functions.
- Review, monitor, and ensure proper utilization of Driver and Fleet resources.
- Assist in the planning, processing, and tracking of the Dispatch process for all DSD and WHSE runs.
- Coordinate with the Shipping Department and Production to optimize requirements.
- Assist/execute border crossing documentation/shipment information for military base shipments.
- Assist in Customer Service functions of freezer monitoring, service, and conditions.
- Assist in Customer Service functions of store concerns and contacts.
- Provide support to the Transportation Safety Manager in the administration of DOT compliance, regulations, and training.
- Provide operational coverage for the Transportation Department during extended operating hours.
III. Minimum Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience equivalent to: Associate’s degree or equivalent; and/or experience similar to the above Duties and Responsibilities. Ability to operate in a dynamic environment in the absence of direct supervision.
Experience:
- Two or more years of progressive experience in Transportation/Dispatch operations
- Desired experience in the use/application of DOT regulations
- Proven experience in Logistics and Distribution operations.
Knowledge/Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have excellent customer service skills/verbal and written communication skills. Good English communication skills (both written and oral).
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and support organizations verbally and in writing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Demonstrate a willingness to learn improved skills.
- Must possess the highest possible standard of ethics and conduct.
- Demonstrate good organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, able to meet deadlines.
- Take initiative and be self-motivated, always looking for opportunities to improve.
IV. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, push and pull objects up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work in varying and dynamic schedules to meet operational demand and have the ability to meet flexible schedules from time to time.
