About the role
Trinity Logistics is a 3PL franchise office moving freight across every mode — dry van, flatbed, expedited medical, and tradeshow/event logistics. We're hiring a Logistics Coordinator to own loads end to end: booking the carrier, generating the paperwork, and keeping the customer informed from pickup to delivery.
This is a remote role, but it's not a passive one. You'll be the person a customer calls when a truck is late and the person a carrier calls when a dock won't release them. If you like owning problems and closing them out, this is a good fit.
What you'll do
- Source, negotiate with, and book carriers on open loads
- Generate and verify BOLs, rate confirmations, and delivery documentation
- Track and trace active shipments; push proactive status updates before the customer has to ask
- Manage 20–30 active loads at once across multiple modes without letting one go dark
- Handle exceptions — detention, reconsignments, missed appointments, damaged freight — and communicate them early
- Vet carriers for authority, insurance, and safety compliance before dispatch
- Keep the TMS clean and current so anyone can pick up a load and know exactly where it stands
What you bring
- 1–3 years in freight brokerage, 3PL, or transportation operations
- Working knowledge of BOLs, rate cons, carrier packets, and DOT compliance basics
- Comfort negotiating rates with carriers and holding a number
- The organizational discipline to run a full board without a dropped update — this is the single biggest predictor of success here
- A quiet, dedicated remote workspace and reliable internet
- Flexibility for occasional after-hours issues; freight doesn't respect a 5 o'clock
Nice to have
- Flatbed experience (securement, permits, oversize)
- Temperature-controlled or medical/pharma freight
- Tradeshow or event logistics (marshaling yards, move-in/move-out windows)
- Experience in a franchise or small-office environment where you wear several hats
Why Trinity
You'll get the backing, carrier network, and technology of a national 3PL with the autonomy of a small office. Your work is visible, your decisions matter, and there's real room to grow into carrier sales or account management
