Quickset Defense Technologies is seeking a Project Manager to lead product development and customization projects.
About the Job
In this role, reporting to the Sr. Program Manager, you will serve as the central connector for custom product development. You’ll guide projects from initial concept through engineering, testing, and final delivery—keeping everything on track, on schedule, and within budget.
Working closely with engineering, production, quality, and leadership, you’ll turn complex customer requirements into clear, executable steps and lead cross-functional teams to bring those plans to life.

Technical/Engineering Background: Required to effectively translate requirements and collaborate with specialized technical teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and execute project activities across the lifecycle, providing overall coordination from kickoff through closeout.
- Develop and manage project plans, technical baselines, work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
- Document project plans and obtain the required reviews and approvals from stakeholders and leadership.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks; develop and maintain risk registers and mitigation plans throughout project execution.
- Review engineering deliverables, including analyses, test plans, technical reports, interface documents, and design changes.
- Drive resolution of complex engineering issues, root cause investigations, nonconformances, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Interface directly with senior leadership, providing clear project status with data-driven project health, risks, and recovery plans.
- Ensure Bid/Proposal, project execution and development are performed in accordance with established engineering processes and policies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality) to maintain alignment on project priorities and deliverables.
- Maintain project documentation, action item tracking, and meeting cadences (kickoffs, design reviews, status reviews) in accordance with company processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 1–5 years of Project Management experience, in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, guidance, and execution within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Demonstrated understanding of structured product development processes.
- Working knowledge of standard project management practices (e.g., PMBOK-based methodologies, WBS development, critical path scheduling, risk management).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present project status to senior leadership.
- Proficiency with common project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent scheduling software, along with Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, motion control, precision positioning equipment (e.g., pan and tilt positioners, gimbals, or similar), or camera sensors.
- Experience managing projects for custom or build-to-spec products with direct customer interaction.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Infor Visual) and engineering change management processes.
- Working knowledge of project performance metrics such as earned value management (EVM)and milestone tracking.
- Experience supporting Bid/Proposal development, including cost estimation and technical scope definition.
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification (or active pursuit thereof).
