Position Overview
The Head of Information Technology is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and tactical leadership to the organization's Information Technology and Shared Services functions. This individual will oversee a high-performing IT organization, develop technology roadmaps, strengthen cybersecurity, and ensure IT initiatives support the company's long-term business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy in alignment with business objectives.
Partner with executive leadership to identify technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and support future growth.
Lead enterprise technology planning, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
Assess technology risks and oversee the organization's information security strategy.
Establish and maintain IT governance, policies, procedures, and best practices.
Drive continuous improvement through emerging technologies and process optimization.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology partners.
Foster a customer-focused IT organization that delivers exceptional service across the business.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT leadership team while establishing departmental goals and KPIs.
Evaluate organizational capacity and leverage contractors, managed services, and third-party resources as needed.
Review organizational structure and optimize team responsibilities to support evolving business needs.
Develop and manage annual operating budgets for all IT functions.
Report on IT performance, compliance, cybersecurity, strategic initiatives, and operational metrics to executive leadership.
Collaborate with global technology teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards while addressing regional business priorities.
Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance organizational capabilities and improve business outcomes.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Minimum of 15 years of progressive IT experience.
Minimum of 12 years in IT leadership positions with increasing responsibility.
Proven experience leading enterprise IT organizations and managing cross-functional teams.
Strong strategic planning, organizational leadership, and business partnership skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.
Experience developing high-performing teams and mentoring IT leaders.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity, governance, infrastructure, and enterprise technology operations.
Preferred
Experience working within a global or multinational organization.
Experience collaborating with international business units and global IT organizations.
Additional Information
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)
Travel: Up to 40%
Standard Monday-Friday work schedule with occasional evening or weekend support as business needs require.
