We're placing a Logistics Coordinator for a specialty chemical raw materials distributor based in WNY: a PE-backed company in active growth mode, with operations spanning the US, Canada, and Mexico.
This role owns the inbound side of the operation. You're tracking vessels, coordinating with customs brokers and freight forwarders, receiving product into the ERP, and keeping internal teams in the loop — while supporting outbound shipping as needed. It's hands-on today, and the company is actively modernizing toward EDI and API integrations, so the role will grow with the business over time.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate import shipments from container booking through warehouse delivery
- Manage customs clearance steps, documentation, and cross-border compliance (USMCA, PAPS)
- Serve as the point of contact with brokers, forwarders, terminals, and carriers
- Support outbound order processing and carrier coordination in the ERP (GP/Dynamics)
- Resolve exceptions — customs holds, carrier issues, document discrepancies — proactively
What we're looking for:
- Background in shipping, receiving, logistics coordination, or distribution
- Baseline understanding of import fundamentals — bills of lading, carrier coordination, inventory receiving
- Strong computer skills; ERP experience a plus
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in an environment that's actively evolving
- Familiarity with import processes, terminals, or cross-border documentation is a bonus but not required
