Director of Operations
Location: Charlotte, NC | Onsite (Direct Hire / Full Time)
Compensation: $140K-170K annual salary + variable comp.
Reports to: President

Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director of Operations will play a critical role in shaping operational strategy while ensuring world-class execution across manufacturing, production, quality, safety, and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for all manufacturing and operational activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Lead production, maintenance, warehouse, planning, and operational support functions.
- Develop and mentor operational leaders while building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Establish operational KPIs and utilize data to drive informed business decisions.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance to ensure operational alignment.
- Optimize manufacturing processes, labor utilization, inventory management, and production scheduling.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, OSHA, and quality standards.
- Lead capital improvement initiatives and support future facility expansion and operational scalability.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience within food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading multiple functional areas within manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated success improving productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and operational metrics.
- Proven experience developing leaders and building high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced technical degree.
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean certification.
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with FDA, USDA, SQF, BRC, HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems.
- Experience leading ERP implementations or manufacturing system improvements.
