Role Description The Carrier Procurement Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Auburn, WA, responsible for building and managing a reliable carrier network to support IBX’s freight operations. This role involves identifying, qualifying, and onboarding carriers, evaluating performance, and ensuring alignment with safety, compliance, and service standards. The Carrier Procurement Manager negotiates contracts and rates, manages carrier relationships, and collaborates with operations and logistics teams to secure capacity that meets customer requirements. Daily activities include monitoring market trends, analyzing carrier data, resolving service issues, and optimizing carrier mix for cost-effectiveness and reliability. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting IBX’s goals for operational excellence and sustainable growth.

- Candidates should possess strong procurement skills, including experience in carrier or supplier sourcing and procurement processes.
- Candidates should possess skills in supplier evaluation and performance assessment to ensure quality, safety, and reliability.
- Candidates should possess contract negotiation and contract management skills to establish competitive, compliant agreements with carriers.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret market data, carrier performance metrics, and cost structures for informed decisions.
- Relevant experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation management is beneficial.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with carriers and internal stakeholders are beneficial.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements is beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is beneficial.
