Logistics SupervisorSummary
The Logistics Supervisor leads daily shipping, receiving, and transportation operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This role oversees logistics team members, ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company standards, and drives continuous improvement in cost, service, and operational performance while supporting CSMI's values of Own It, Can Do, and Act in Love.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including shipping schedules, routing, carrier management, and on-time delivery performance.
- Monitor shipments and resolve delays or service issues to maintain customer satisfaction and service levels.
- Lead, train, and develop logistics personnel to ensure safety, accuracy, compliance, and high performance.
- Collaborate with Production, Customer Service, and Sales to support order fulfillment goals.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company policies, including driver and fleet documentation.
- Analyze logistics metrics, including delivery performance, freight costs, and claims, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Support cost-control initiatives through carrier evaluation, freight optimization, and process improvements.
- Champion Lean and continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and improve operational throughput.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to assigned logistics team members.
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training employees.
- Coach and develop employees to improve performance and support career growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Manage work schedules, attendance, and time-off approvals.
- Address employee relations issues and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Foster a safe, collaborative, and positive work environment aligned with CSMI values.
Education & Experience
Required
- Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in logistics, transportation, or shipping operations.
- One (1) or more years of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Five (5) or more years of logistics experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced reporting and analytics tools.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based and requires regular use of standard office equipment. Work is largely sedentary and involves extensive computer use, communication, and data analysis.
Employees must be able to:
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and grasp as needed.
- Use a computer and other office equipment for extended periods.
