Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer II plays a key role in developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes while taking on more complex projects and responsibilities than an entry-level engineer. This position supports production, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and begins to lead smaller projects independently. The role serves as a bridge between foundational engineering tasks and advanced process optimization, preparing for quality standard throughout the product life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements for cost reduction and throughput.
• Lead small-scale process improvement projects and participate in larger cross-functional initiatives.
• Maintain detailed documentation of product specifications, design changes, and result to endure compliance and facilitate communication amount teams.
• Support troubleshooting of equipment and process issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of products.
• Research, evaluate, justify and recommend capital equipment for operations optimization of installation of new equipment and tools.
• Create and maintain accurate process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Provide technical guidance and liaison to product operations, assist the supervisor on new techniques and may assist in the of causes of rejected parts and their disposition
• Training of production staff in new processes in initiatives for facilities culture and work standards
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Map out future engineering value-adding developments and initiatives using lean methodologies that will sustain productivity expansions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4–6 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to assess risks/ issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency.
• Conduct time and motion studies establishing time standard for manufacturing processes with emphasis on productivity improvement efficiency gains and cycle time reduction.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and data analysis.
Preferred:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and project stakeholders.
• Fabrication shop experience.
• Hands on experience designing or implementing jigs m fixtures x tooling, and standardized work.
• Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
