Position Summary:
Apply solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and company policies in designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production of goods. Work to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance production efficiency by analyzing workflows, selecting appropriate tools, and solving technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards
- Develop and maintain process documentation: work instructions, process flows, and quality control plans
- Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new products
- Lead projects focused on continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Monitor production performance metrics and provide data-driven recommendations for process enhancements
- Develop/manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure project execution
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues
- Review and approve Engineering blueprint revisions
- Develop/maintain accurate costs and cost structures in the MRP system for Accounting Dept.
- Actively participate in Material Review Board (MRB), resolving issues, identifying corrective actions and writing rework instructions for non-conforming products
- Redline work orders as needed for products to conform to blueprint
- Create & maintain lists of new machined parts for new projects/programs
- Maintain AS9100C SOP related to the department
- Create Process Control Plans (PCP) using applicable software
- Create Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) using applicable software
- Prepare & send requests for quotations (RFQ) and information (RFI)
- Run MRP system related to creation and implementation of MRP system functions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, with solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
