Job Overview
St. Marys is seeking a dependable and energetic lifeguard to join our Day Program team. In this role, you will help create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable aquatic environment for clients while promoting engagement, recreation, and wellness through meaningful pool activities.
Duties
- Monitor pool, deck, and surrounding areas to ensure swimmer safety and enforce pool rules.
- Maintain constant surveillance of swimmers and emergency-ready at all times.
- Respond To emergencies by providing first aid, CPR/AED rescues, and coordinating emergency services.
- Document attendance, activities, chemical checks, incidents, and pool closures per policy.
- Notify management of pool chemical or supply needs.
- Prepare and clean pool areas before and after activities.
- Support emergency evacuation and disaster response efforts.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED Preferred.
- Previous life guarding experience Preferred.
- Must be able to swim and work comfortably in water.
- Valid Louisiana Driver's license required.
- Current lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications required.
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform water rescues confidently and efficiently.

- Calm, patient, and responsive during emergencies
- Ability to monitor and adjust pool chemical levels
- Strong physical endurance and ability to assist swimmers in distress
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Physical Requirements
- Lift individuals from the water when necessary
- Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently
- Comfortable remaining in and around water for extend periods of time.
Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
