Ogun Space is seeking researchers to help develop technologies for reliable metal manufacturing in space. This paid role is intended for scientists and engineers interested in solving difficult problems involving molten metals, solidification, electromagnetic fields, microgravity, simulation, experimental systems, and materials qualification.
Candidates in the Metro Atlanta area are preferred.
What You’ll Work On
* Design and conduct experiments involving metal processing and solidification
* Develop models, simulations, control methods, or data-analysis tools
* Study porosity, inclusions, thermal behavior, fluid flow, and material quality
* Build and operate research instrumentation and experimental systems
* Analyze results and translate findings into repeatable engineering processes
* Collaborate across software, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, and materials disciplines
Relevant Backgrounds
We welcome candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
* Materials science, metallurgy, or metal additive manufacturing
* Mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or chemical engineering
* Applied physics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, or solidification
* Electromagnetics, controls, instrumentation, or sensor systems
* Computational mechanics, multiphysics modeling, or scientific computing
* Micro-CT, acoustic testing, microscopy, or nondestructive evaluation
* Microgravity research or space systems
An advanced degree is helpful but not required when supported by strong research, laboratory, industry, or project experience.
