Position Title: Construction Project Manager (Sitework Focus)

Experience Required: 5 to 10 Years

Location: Brunswick, GA to Savannah, GA

Reports to: Senior Project Manager / Director of Operations

Position Summary:

The construction project manager will be responsible for overseeing site development and infrastructure projects, including those of the Georgia Department of Transportation, from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sitework, including grading, earthwork, utilities, and road construction. They will also be responsible for managing schedules, budgets, quality control, and safety. This role requires effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage teams, subcontractors, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

Lead the project lifecycle from initial planning to completion, ensuring all sitework phases adhere to project specifications and standards.

Work closely with estimators to review bids and manage the procurement of sitework materials.

Schedule & Budget Management:

Create and manage project schedules, tracking critical milestones and adjusting timelines as necessary.

Maintain and update budgets, ensuring cost control measures are in place to prevent overages.

Ensure timely completion of project deliverables, managing sitework activities to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

Oversee field teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring proper communication and collaboration to meet project goals.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the client regarding sitework matters, addressing concerns or changes as they arise.

Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure coordination and progress.

Quality Control & Safety Compliance:

Ensure that all sitework is executed in accordance with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations.

Monitor and enforce project safety plans, conducting regular site inspections to address potential hazards.

Resolve construction-related issues in real-time, applying technical knowledge and leadership to ensure project success.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, change orders, RFIs, and material submittals.

Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key achievements, risks, and next steps.

Ensure timely closeout of projects, including final inspections, punch lists, and financial reconciliations.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

5-10 years of construction project management experience, with a strong emphasis on sitework and civil construction.

Proven experience managing site development and Georgia Department of Transportation projects, including grading, utilities, and roads.

Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar).

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations related to sitework.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with large-scale sitework projects (Georgia Department of Transportation, commercial, residential, or industrial).

Familiarity with local and state regulations regarding site development and environmental compliance.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on active construction sites, including walking long distances and standing for extended periods.

Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
