About the Opportunity We are looking for a dedicated Distribution Manager to join our team and lead our Auburndale facility. This is a key leadership role that ensures efficient, and safe distribution operations. What You Will Do
- Oversee order processing, shipping, inventory accuracy, distribution center and shipping yard upkeep, and the performance of distribution staff.
- Champion and maintain a safe, collaborative, and compliant workplace, promoting a strong safety culture and culture of collaboration across the distribution team.
- Oversee and prioritize customer order processing, routing, and shipping, while actively managing freight costs.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with carriers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by maintaining high quality standards, identifying variances, and resolving shipping or inventory discrepancies.
- Review and approve customer orders, validate customer information, and process departmental purchase orders.
- Monitor and record daily key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain facility and equipment conditions to ensure they meet company standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop distribution staff to achieve operational goals.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 3-5 years of distribution, warehouse, or operations experience preferred. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Logistics, Business or a related field preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent organizational, leadership, and managerial capabilities. Ability to set long-term goals and align team efforts to achieve them. Ability to motivate teams and lead confidently without intimidation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and basic computer applications. JDE proficiency is preferred.
- Operational Knowledge: Understanding of employment law and distribution/warehouse operations. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to present information clearly to managers, customers, and stakeholders. Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, interpret data, and develop solutions.
Additional Requirements & Working Conditions
- Must pass a standard background check.
- This role requires handling confidential or proprietary information up to 75% of the time.
- Physical requirements include walking, standing, sitting, bending, turning, and reaching , as well as lifting up to 50 lbs periodically.
- Ability to work in various facility conditions (temperature changes, equipment noise, etc.).
- Expect exposure to moving mechanical parts , varying temperature conditions , moderate to loud noise levels , and occasional exposure to airborne particles or fumes.
- Local/Driving travel as needed and occasional air travel depending on operational needs.
