We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced hands-on Director of Logistics in our Irvine office to work on both Strottman and LUKi Lab toy products.
The Director of Logistics will manage and optimize a global logistics network with multiple locations. This includes but is not limited to international transportation, customs regulations and government/broker liaison, domestic transportation, and all warehousing.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing, documenting, and executing a global comprehensive logistics and distribution strategic plan.
- Manages importation activities, including the selection of brokers, and ocean freight forwarders/carriers – negotiating rates, terms, and conditions for these functions.
- Provides logistics & warehousing budgets to internal team members.
- Manages all domestic transportation/warehousing activities, including the selection of warehouse sites, and carriers – negotiating rates, terms, and conditions for these functions.
- Monitors all regulatory and compliance measures ensuring compliance.
- Monitors and reports all inventory activity and makes recommendations for optimum inventory levels to ensure adequate stock on hand to handle demand.
- Interfaces with designated client counterpart (B2B) to establish accurate inventory reporting and ordering metrics and provide recommendations accordingly.
- Interfaces with the financial team to help minimize carrying cost of inventory while balancing client inventory requirements.
- Ecommerce Operations - with CFO identifies and negotiates with fulfilment warehouse/3PL’s to support growing retail business.Responsible for reporting Ecommerce inventory status across the entire supply chain – incoming and outgoing.
- Provides a daily inventory report to Head of Ecommerce and appropriate parties on ecommerce website (i.e Amazon) and recommends updates.
- Responsible for all Ecommerce fulfilment activities for Direct-to-Consumer orders.
- Provides support to Customer Service on issues related to Ecommerce shipping.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or a related field and 7 to 10 years general business experience in a distribution/logistics environment. Demonstrated management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage numerous projects. Experience in the Toy and Gaming industry a plus.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communications skills are required. Must be able to demonstrate strong people skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Excel; Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- In-depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes & current best practices.
