Job Title: Director, Managed Transportation

About the Role:
Talent Groups is partnering with a growing transportation organization seeking a Director of Managed Transportation to lead strategic transportation programs for key shipper clients. This leadership role will oversee transportation operations, customer relationships, carrier strategy, and process improvement initiatives focused on service performance, cost optimization, and scalable growth.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience within managed transportation, 3PL operations, or supply chain services and is comfortable working directly with enterprise customers in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead managed transportation operations across multiple customer accounts
- Oversee carrier performance, routing compliance, and transportation execution
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with transportation and supply chain leaders
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Partner with procurement and carrier teams on sourcing strategies and network optimization
- Support transportation solution design, reporting, and operational analytics
- Collaborate with internal operations, engineering, technology, and commercial teams
- Lead and develop transportation operations personnel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
- 7+ years of transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience
- Leadership experience within managed transportation, 3PL, freight brokerage, or transportation operations
- Strong knowledge of truckload, LTL, carrier management, routing guides, and TMS platforms
- Experience managing customer relationships and transportation KPIs
- Strong communication, analytical, and operational leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise transportation accounts
- Prior shipper, manufacturing, retail, or distribution experience
- Exposure to transportation analytics, visibility tools, or supply chain consulting environments
