Director of Supply Chain | Healthcare Operations
A respected and rapidly growing healthcare organization is seeking a strategic and operationally driven Director of Supply Chain to lead supply chain operations across a complex acute care environment.
This leader will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, financial stewardship, vendor strategy, inventory optimization, and system-wide supply chain performance. The ideal candidate brings a strong healthcare supply chain background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, finance, clinical stakeholders, and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day supply chain operations including procurement, purchasing, logistics, inventory management, distribution, and vendor relations
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives focused on cost reduction, operational efficiency, and service excellence
- Partner closely with clinical leadership and physicians to ensure product standardization, utilization management, and supply continuity
- Oversee contract compliance, vendor performance, GPO alignment, and sourcing optimization initiatives
- Analyze operational and financial data to improve supply chain KPIs including inventory turns, fill rates, expense management, and cost savings
- Drive process improvement initiatives across materials management and supply chain workflows
- Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Collaborate with finance and executive leadership on budgeting, capital planning, and operational strategy
- Support ERP/MMIS optimization initiatives and future operational scalability
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of progressive healthcare supply chain leadership experience
- Current or recent experience within:
- Acute care hospital systems
- Integrated delivery networks (IDNs)
- Large healthcare organizations
- Proven experience managing:
- Procurement
- Materials management
- Inventory control
- Strategic sourcing
- Vendor negotiations
- Demonstrated success driving measurable cost savings and operational improvements
- Experience leading teams in a matrixed healthcare environment
- Strong understanding of healthcare supply chain operations, GPOs, contracting, and regulatory requirements
- Experience with ERP/MMIS systems such as: Workday
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence physicians, clinical leadership, finance, and operations teams
Preferred Experience
- Multi-site or system-level healthcare supply chain leadership
- Experience supporting healthcare growth or transformation initiatives
- Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies
- Exposure to capital equipment purchasing and value analysis programs
- Healthcare certifications such as CMRP preferred
