We’re seeking a Windows Systems Administrator (Contract) to support a high-impact infrastructure modernization effort within a global enterprise environment. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role centered on Windows patching, MECM administration, security certificate management, and automation across a hybrid on-prem and Azure environment.
This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in enterprise patching and security hygiene, who can modernize processes and reduce operational risk.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead enterprise Windows patching operations, driving success rates toward a 99%+ service-level objective
- Own and optimize MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) for patching, compliance, and deployment activities
- Design and implement PowerShell automation to eliminate manual infrastructure and operational tasks
- Manage and maintain security certificates (PKI) across Windows environments to support secure communications and compliance
- Support the transition from MECM to Azure-based patching and modern endpoint management solutions
- Improve visibility into patching health, certificate status, and compliance gaps
- Administer and optimize Windows Server environments across on-prem and Azure infrastructure
- Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and Platform teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency
Qualifications (Top Requirements)
- Proven experience as a Windows Systems Administrator in large enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with MECM / SCCM, including patching, deployments, and compliance management
- Experience managing security certificates / PKI infrastructure within Windows environments
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- Deep experience with Windows Server administration and patching strategies
- Experience supporting enterprise security and infrastructure hygiene initiatives
- Working knowledge of hybrid environments (on-prem + Azure)
- Strong discipline around documentation, validation, and risk management
