Insight Global is seeking a Logistics Manager for a top high-tech manufacturing client. This individual will own end-to-end logistics operations within an international manufacturing environment, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of materials and finished goods across global supply chains. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly analytical, and experienced in import/export compliance, dangerous goods regulations, and warehouse optimization. This role plays a critical part in driving delivery reliability, cost optimization, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with operations, supply chain, and external logistics providers.
Day-to-Day:
- Own end-to-end logistics execution across global supply chains
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and finished goods
- Ensure OTIF delivery performance and cost efficiency
- Oversee warehouse operations (picking, packing, labeling, shipping)
- Maintain compliance with international trade, customs, and export regulations
- Serve as primary contact for customs authorities, brokers, and freight forwarders
- Lead dangerous goods programs and regulatory compliance (IATA, IMDG, DOT, ADR)
- Negotiate with logistics providers and manage freight quotations
- Monitor and manage logistics KPIs, partner performance, and service levels
- Manage freight claims, loss investigations, and cost recovery
- Ensure accurate inventory movements and ERP postings
- Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and logistics processes
- Lead root cause analysis for delivery failures and shipment errors
- Support audits, traceability, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and Customer Service
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related)
- Several years of logistics management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong international import/export experience
- Hands-on experience with customs compliance & export controls
- Dangerous Goods / HazMat ownership experience (air, ocean, ground)
- DOT HazMat (49 CFR) training
- ERP experience (Oracle, NetSuite, or SAP)
- Proven leadership experience managing logistics/warehouse teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Plusses:
- APICS / ASCM (CSCP, CLTD), CCS, or ISM CPSM certification
- Lean / Operational Excellence experience
- German language proficiency
- Experience with freight analytics tools
- Prior ownership of freight cost budgets and carrier invoice reconciliation
This position is 9-month contract to hire and the salary is between $95k/yr - $105k/yr. We may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with the screening, assessment, or selection of potential applicants for this position
