Overview
The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects with a focus on budgets, schedules, safety, and quality. This role works closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, including finance, design, field operations, and manufacturing to help ensure projects are delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution
- Assist with pre-construction planning by coordinating with design, field operations, and manufacturing teams on scheduling and resource allocation
- Track and maintain project data, including job costs, labor hours, materials, and deliveries
- Support cost tracking and change order management in collaboration with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Communicate daily with superintendents, field teams, and subcontractors to monitor schedules and progress
- Help align field activities with project timelines using project management tools
- Coordinate across departments to keep projects progressing efficiently
Administrative Support
- Review and validate project labor hours and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor daily field reports and progress updates to track performance and schedules
- Assist with purchasing activities through the company’s ERP system in alignment with approved vendors
- Maintain organized project documentation and records
Customer & Team Communication
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and follow-up
- Support customer interactions during both estimating and active project phases
- Assist in coordinating and participating in internal and customer-facing project status meetings
Safety & Quality
- Promote and support compliance with OSHA, company, and customer safety standards
- Assist with project commissioning and closeout processes
- Help ensure projects meet quality standards and that all documentation and approvals are completed
QualificationsRequired
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5+ years of experience in construction, project coordination, or a related field
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong math skills (basic arithmetic, fractions, and decimals)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
- Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience supporting Project Managers or managing small projects
- Exposure to agricultural construction or equipment installation
- Experience with Acumatica ERP system
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
