Position Summary:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) serves as a strategic member of the executive leadership team. This executive will lead the organization’s global IT strategy, digital modernization efforts, cybersecurity posture, SAP implementation and adoption initiatives, and enterprise-wide technology operations across a complex multi-site environment.
The CIO will be responsible for aligning technology capabilities with business priorities while building a modern, agile, and data-driven organization. This leader will oversee large global IT teams and external partners, ensuring delivery of secure, scalable, and efficient systems that enable innovation, improve customer outcomes, and drive measurable business performance.
This role requires a highly visible transformational leader who can influence across all levels of the organization, challenge legacy thinking, and create accountability for execution while balancing strategic vision with operational excellence.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Enterprise Transformation Leadership
- Lead enterprise-wide business and digital transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and organizational agility.
- Serve as a catalyst for change by aligning technology investments with strategic business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Drive modernization initiatives across infrastructure, applications, ERP systems, data platforms, cybersecurity, and digital capabilities.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to shape enterprise strategy and ensure technology is embedded into business planning and execution.
SAP Strategy, Implementation & Adoption
- Lead enterprise SAP strategy, implementation, optimization, and adoption initiatives across global operations.
- Drive ERP modernization efforts including system integrations, process standardization, data governance, and operational alignment.
- Ensure successful user adoption through strong change management, training, governance, and business engagement strategies.
- Partner with functional leaders across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, and commercial teams to maximize SAP value realization.
IT & Digital Strategy Execution
- Define and execute a scalable global IT roadmap aligned to company priorities and future growth.
- Oversee enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cloud strategy, cybersecurity, applications, data analytics, and digital innovation initiatives.
- Build and maintain modern operating models that support business agility, automation, and data-driven decision making.
- Establish governance structures and KPIs to ensure accountability, transparency, and successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
Global IT Leadership & Operations
- Lead and develop a large, globally distributed IT organization, including internal teams, managed services, and strategic vendors.
- Foster a high-performance culture centered around accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee IT operations across multiple business units, manufacturing sites, and international locations.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of enterprise systems and infrastructure.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Establish and maintain a strong enterprise cybersecurity framework, governance model, and risk management strategy.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements across global operations.
- Lead business continuity, disaster recovery, and enterprise risk mitigation planning.
Business Partnership & Organizational Enablement
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and business stakeholders across all functional areas.
- Enable modern ways of working through automation, agile delivery models, AI-enabled capabilities, and digital process transformation.
- Champion organizational change management and strengthen enterprise digital literacy and technology adoption.
- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, and strategic technology partners.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field required.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s) strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including executive-level oversight within complex mid-sized or large organizations.
- Proven experience leading enterprise transformation initiatives and large-scale SAP implementations/adoptions.
- Demonstrated success overseeing large IT organizations, global teams, and multi-site operations.
- Strong background in cybersecurity, enterprise systems modernization, infrastructure, cloud technologies, and digital strategy.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or operationally complex environments strongly preferred.
- Certifications in Agile, Lean, AI, cybersecurity, SAP, or related disciplines are a plus.
