Job Overview
The Logistics Associate will support end-to-end logistics operations for the chemical business, focusing on shipment coordination, documentation accuracy, inventory tracking, and vendor/warehouse communication.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth execution of import/export transactions, timely deliveries, and accurate operational reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple logistics processes simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including scheduling, tracking, and delivery follow-ups.
- Review and process shipping documents (B/L, invoices, packing lists, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance with contracts.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, sales orders, and logistics-related documentation in ERP systems.
- Monitor inventory levels, maintain warehouse records, and support periodic physical inventory counts.
- Communicate with vendors, freight forwarders, and warehouses to resolve shipment or documentation issues
- Review vendor invoices and receipts; identify discrepancies and support payment approval processes
- Track and report inventory aging, accounts receivable/payable, and logistics-related KPIs
- Support warehouse operations, including coordination of inbound/outbound shipments and storage arrangements
- Assist in reviewing and summarizing logistics/vendor contracts and reporting key terms to management.
- Support customs clearance and ensure shipping documentation complies with import/export regulations, including HAZMAT and SDS requirements where applicable
Qualifications
- Ability to travel within North America as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Familiarity with Incoterms, chemical or B2B commodity logistics, and freight operations is a plus

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, detail-driven environment
- Effective communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Basic understanding of supply chain and logistics operations
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, D365, etc.) preferred
