VP, Global IT Minneapolis, MN
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Global IT Leader to lead and scale the company’s technology organization in support of growth, operational excellence, and value creation in a fast-paced private equity-backed manufacturing environment. This IT leader will be responsible for the company’s global IT strategy, infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, helpdesk, and digital transformation roadmap across a global footprint.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in private equity-backed companies, deep experience leading ERP transitions and SAP environments, and the ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution. This leader will partner closely with executive leadership to ensure technology enables business performance, supports global operations, and drives scalable processes across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and customer-facing functions.
This role requires a leader who is comfortable operating with urgency, accountability, and limited bureaucracy, someone who can assess current capabilities quickly, prioritize investments, strengthen IT fundamentals, and build a roadmap aligned with growth and margin improvement objectives.

Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global IT strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives, growth plans, and private equity value creation priorities.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, translating business needs into scalable technology solutions.
- Build a technology roadmap that supports operational efficiency, standardization, automation, business intelligence, and global expansion.
- Lead IT planning, budgeting, and capital allocation with a strong ROI mindset.
- Lead major ERP initiatives, including system upgrades, transformation programs, integrations, or full platform transitions.
- Oversee the administration, optimization, and support of SAP and related enterprise applications.
- Partner with finance, operations, supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing leaders to improve process design and system utilization.
- Ensure enterprise systems support accurate reporting, strong controls, and scalable global operations.
- Drive data governance, master data quality, and system integration across key platforms.
- Oversee global IT operations, including network infrastructure, cloud/on-prem environments, servers, storage, end-user computing, telecommunications, and site support.
- Lead a responsive, service-oriented helpdesk/user support function with clear service levels and performance metrics.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and business continuity for critical systems and operations.
- Standardize IT processes, support models, asset management, and vendor management practices across locations.
- Evaluate and modernize infrastructure to improve performance, resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Strengthen the company’s cybersecurity posture, policies, controls, and incident response capabilities.
- Oversee disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and risk mitigation programs.
- Ensure IT controls and compliance support the needs of finance, audit, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Manage third-party risk related to software, infrastructure, and managed service providers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the global IT organization, including internal team members and external partners.
- Assess organizational capabilities and build the right structure to support both daily operations and transformation initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and customer service.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and change management for technology initiatives.
- Operate effectively in a high-accountability, results-driven private equity setting with an emphasis on speed, measurable outcomes, and value creation.
- Support diligence, integration, carve-out, or acquisition-related activities as needed.
- Build reporting and KPI visibility for executive leadership and investors where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve productivity, and create a scalable technology foundation for future growth.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including 7+ years in senior IT leadership roles in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience in a private equity-backed company or similarly fast-paced, transformation-driven business environment.
- Significant experience leading ERP transitions, ERP implementations, or major ERP optimization initiatives.
- Strong experience with SAP management, support, governance, and business process integration.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing outsourced service providers, including helpdesk, infrastructure, applications support, and managed services, with accountability for service levels, performance, cost, and continuous improvement.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, helpdesk operations, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
- Experience leading modernization initiatives utilizing Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud technologies to enhance productivity, strengthen cybersecurity, and support scalable, global IT operations.
- Experience supporting global operations across multiple sites and regions.
- Demonstrated success leading change, improving IT maturity, and building scalable processes.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and investment prioritization.
- Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
