Primary Purpose
Support the district's server and cloud infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operation of systems that support instructional and business operations. Assist with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of on-premises and cloud-based systems including identity services, virtualization platforms, and enterprise applications.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree in information technology, systems administration, or a related field
Preferred, Or Equivalent Work Experience
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft, VMware, or Google Workspace certifications preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience
- One to two years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or a related field preferred
Knowledge And Skills
- Windows Server administration including Active Directory
- Google Workspace administration including user and device management
- DNS and directory services in hybrid environments
- Virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and virtual machine management
- Storage systems including SAN, NAS, and converged or hyperconverged infrastructure
- Backup and recovery concepts and tools
- Identity and access management concepts
- Basic scripting or automation concepts such as PowerShell
- Ability to troubleshoot system performance and service issues
- Knowledge of security best practices related to system hardening and access control
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Effective communication and customer service skills
Major Responsibilities And Duties
System Administration
- Assist with administration and maintenance of Windows servers including Active Directory, DNS, and related services
- Assist with administration of Google Workspace including users, groups, devices, and organizational units
- Assist with virtualization environments including VMware vSphere and virtual machine lifecycle management
- Assist with management of converged and hyperconverged infrastructure systems
- Assist with administration of enterprise applications and systems that support district operations
Operations and Support
- Monitor system performance and availability and assist in identifying and resolving issues
- Respond to service requests and incidents related to servers and enterprise systems
- Assist with system updates, patches, and routine maintenance
Account and Access Management
- Create, modify, and disable user accounts across systems in accordance with district standards and procedures
- Assist with permissions management and access control to systems and data
Backup and Recovery
- Assist with backup processes and verify completion of scheduled backups
- Support recovery efforts for systems and data as needed
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures
- Follow district standards, procedures, and security practices
