Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded Project Manager / Statement of Work (SOW) Manager to join our team in Alpharetta. This role is unique in its focus: you will not only lead projects from inception to completion but also serve as the primary architect for the contractual and technical frameworks (Statements of Work) that define our partnerships.
The ideal candidate bridges the gap between technical engineering requirements and business objectives, ensuring that every project is scoped accurately, priced fairly, and delivered on time.
We are seeking a technically-grounded Project Manager to oversee the engineering development of Point of Sale (POS), Self-Checkout (SCO), and retail peripheral hardware. You will be the central point of contact between our design engineers, manufacturing partners, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams through the initiation, planning, execution, and closing phases of projects.
- SOW Development & Management: Draft, review, and negotiate detailed Statements of Work. You will translate complex client requirements into actionable project phases, deliverables, and milestones. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that engineering projects stay within technical scope and that the Statement of Work (SOW) accurately reflects complex engineering requirements, including Bill of Materials (BOM), tooling costs, and certification timelines. This includes defining technical specifications, NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering) costs, and hardware integration milestones.
- Resource & Budget Oversight: Monitor project budgets, track resource allocation and material orders/receipts, and ensure all initiatives remain profitable and within scope.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential "scope creep" early. Proactively manage changes to the project scope and facilitate the change order process.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer and internal leadership, providing regular status updates and resolving bottlenecks.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to ensure SOWs comply with company standards and regional regulations.
- Hardware Development Life Cycle (HDLC)- Manage the hardware lifecycle from Concept and Prototyping (EVT/DVT/PVT) through to Mass Production (MP).
- Technical Vendor Management: Coordinate with JDMs, ODMs, and component suppliers. Ensure that external engineering partners deliver according to the technical requirements specified in the SOW.
- Risk & Compliance Tracking: Monitor the progress of essential hardware certifications globally (UL, FCC, CE), environmental compliance (RoHS, REACH), and quality assurance.
- Cross-Functional Sync: Act as the "translator" between the Hardware Engineering team, Product Management, and Sales to ensure the physical device meets the commercial intent.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related engineering preferred. A Business degree is acceptable if paired with hardware manufacturing experience or technical related experience.

- 2–5 years of experience in hardware project management, contract administration, or a technical lead role.
- Proven experience in drafting or managing Statements of Work (SOW) or complex service engineering project contracts.
Technical & Soft Skills:

- Strong financial acumen; ability to understand margins, project costing, and invoicing/billing cycles.
- Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM certification is a significant plus.
