About The Role
Maverick Power is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our dynamic team in McKinney. The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support manufacturing operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to achieve production goals.
Key Responsibilities - Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, sales forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with sales, operations, and procurement teams to ensure production plans align with capacity and resource availability.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to optimize inventory turnover and support production needs.
- Material Coordination:
- Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production.
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve issues related to delivery schedules, quality, and pricing.
- Implement strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions and ensure continuity of supply.
- Performance Monitoring and Improvement:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, schedule adherence, and inventory turns.
- Analyze production data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and logistics teams to support new product introductions and ensure product quality standards are met.
- Communicate production schedules and material requirements to relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and MRP systems preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally, as needed.
- Experience in power systems, energy products, or electromechanical assembly manufacturing.
- 3-5 years experience in production planning, materials management, or operations within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and other production planning tools/software.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings.
