Overview
We are seeking a highly driven and strategic Director of Network & Infrastructure to serve as a key partner and right hand to the CIO. This individual will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing enterprise IT infrastructure strategy, driving modernization initiatives, and ensuring a secure, scalable, and high-performing environment across the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in autonomy, can lead major initiatives with minimal oversight, and is comfortable operating at both strategic and technical levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic LeadershipPartner directly with the CIO to define and execute IT infrastructure and network strategy
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives including infrastructure modernization, cloud adoption, and data center optimization
- Act as a decision-maker and escalation point for critical infrastructure and network issues
- Infrastructure & Network ManagementOversee design, implementation, and support of network architecture (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, VPN)
- Manage core infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of all infrastructure systems
- Operational ExcellenceEstablish and enforce best practices for system reliability, monitoring, and incident response
- Drive continuous improvement in uptime, performance, and service delivery
- Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts
- Security & CompliancePartner with security teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, etc.)
- Implement and maintain secure network architectures and access controls
- Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and grow a high-performing infrastructure and network team
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning
- Manage vendors and third-party service providers
- Project & Initiative OwnershipLead large-scale IT projects from planning through execution (e.g., system upgrades, cloud migrations, network transformations)
- Operate independently to drive CIO-led initiatives forward without constant oversight
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure and network experience, including leadership roles
- Proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure environments in complex organizations
- Strong expertise in:
- Network architecture (routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN)
- Cloud platforms
- Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Data center operations and modernization
- Demonstrated ability to lead large initiatives independently and influence executive stakeholders
- Experience managing and developing technical teams
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and regulatory compliance (HIPAA preferred)
