AUTOMOTIVE QUALITY ENGINEER
Quality Engineer in the Kodak, TN area. This is a direct-hire opportunity. Starting pay range is $60,000 to $80,000 per year depending on training, education and experience. This is a first-shift position.
Job Description:
Quality Engineers work with all parties involved in the manufacturing process to ensure that parts produced are of the highest level of quality. Successful candidates must have experience with measuring devices (micrometers, calipers), auditing procedures, manufacturing and assembly, tight tolerance machining, and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyzes product, process, equipment and method issues at designated stages of product development and manufacturing
- Lead and support action to prevent and reduce all costs associated with poor quality
- Work to maximize product conformance to specified requirements while ensuring best possible manufacturability
- Support activities maintaining the quality of the products within the production process
- Support launch activities for new or revised products
- Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component
- Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities
- Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.
- Ability to travel, as required, to customers, suppliers, and to provide quality support to all company facilities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required or other related field of study.
- 1+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- ASQ and/or Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
