Purpose Of Your Work
The Warehouse Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing all inbound shipment activities, ensuring accurate driver check-in, document processing, and real-time communication with both internal teams and customers. This role plays a critical part in maintaining receiving flow, resolving discrepancies, and supporting efficient dock operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Receiving & Driver Check-In
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all inbound drivers upon arrival
- Manage driver check-in/check-out process, ensuring proper documentation is collected and verified (BOLs, packing slips, ASNs, etc.)
- Assign dock doors and coordinate unloading schedules with warehouse operations
- Maintain accurate logs of inbound arrivals, delays, and dock assignments
Documentation & System Processing
- Review and validate inbound shipment documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Enter receiving data into WMS/ERP systems (e.g., JDE, RF systems, or equivalent)
- Ensure timely and accurate transaction processing to support inventory visibility
- Organize and maintain all receiving paperwork (physical and electronic filing)
Discrepancy Resolution
- Identify and document shipment discrepancies (shortages, overages, damages, incorrect items)
- Communicate issues clearly to internal teams (supervisors, inventory control) and customers
- Assist in researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed records of all exceptions and resolutions
Customer Communication
- Manage inbound/outbound email communication related to receiving activity
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, discrepancies, and documentation
- Provide professional, timely updates to ensure strong customer satisfaction
- Coordinate with customer representatives on special receiving instructions or issues
Dock Coordination & Operations Support
- Work closely with warehouse supervisors and dock teams to ensure smooth workflow
- Monitor dock activity and adjust schedules as needed to avoid congestion or delays
- Communicate priority shipments and special handling requirements
- Support continuous improvement efforts to increase receiving efficiency
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of warehouse, logistics, or receiving experience preferred
- Experience with WMS/ERP systems (JDE experience a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including potential weekends
Preferred Experience
- Experience handling FTL, LTL, and parcel shipments
- Background in high-SKU or production-support environments
- Familiarity with RF scanning processes and inventory systems
- Experience supporting customer-facing operations
Work Environment
- Warehouse and office setting with frequent interaction on the dock
- Fast-paced operation with high volume of inbound shipments
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)

Work Schedule
This position is full-time and onsite Monday through Friday ~ 8am-5pm
Compensation Range
Salary Range: $18-$25
This position is eligible to earn (annual) incentives based on individual and company performance.
The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position.
