Position Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient day-to-day operations. This role plays a key part in managing internal systems, user access, devices, and technical support needs across the organization. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while balancing both user support and systems administration responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support the organization’s IT systems, servers, networks, and business-critical applications
- Provide technical support to employees, including troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and access-related issues
- Manage user accounts, permissions, group policies, email access, VPN access, MFA, and other identity and access functions
- Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
- Support Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and related tools
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, including provisioning and deprovisioning accounts, devices, and system access
- Monitor system performance, maintain backups, and support cybersecurity best practices across the environment
- Help maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and asset records
- Coordinate with external vendors, service providers, and IT partners as needed
- Escalate or resolve advanced technical issues in a timely and professional manner
- Recommend improvements to systems, processes, and overall IT operations
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or a related technical role
- Strong working knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and endpoint devices
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable and able to work onsite as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized organizations
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, Intune, VPNs, MFA, and endpoint security tools
- Experience with device management platforms, ticketing systems, and remote support tools
- Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure, backup solutions, and business continuity practices
- Experience coordinating with third-party IT vendors or managed service providers
