Director of Transportation
Location: Swedesboro, NJ
Pay: $77,600-110,900 (depending on experience)
Position Overview:
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of transportation operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery performance while maintaining compliance with DOT and company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily transportation operations including routing, scheduling, and delivery performance
- Supervise staff including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations, including driver logs and safety standards
- Manage driver payroll, trip reports, and department expenses while resolving operational issues
- Maintain driver records including licenses, certifications, and safety data
- Coordinate fleet scheduling, maintenance, and equipment needs\
- Analyze costs such as fuel and equipment to support budgeting and efficiency
- Partner with warehouse leadership to improve overall operations

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred
- 4–6 years of transportation experience required, including knowledge of DOT regulations
- Prior supervisory or management experience required
- Experience with computerized fleet management systems
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of transportation safety and compliance standards
