What You’ll Do
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) provides engineering, administrative, and business support to the project management and field teams to ensure successful execution of construction projects. This role is designed as a growth position with a clear development path toward becoming a Project Manager.
Growth Path
The APM role is intended to prepare individuals for advancement into a Project Manager position through hands-on project exposure, increasing responsibility, and mentorship.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Construction
-
Provide technical and engineering support to Project Managers and field management as required

Ensure work performed onsite meets design specifications and quality standards

Manage, develop, and submit RFIs, O&M manuals, submittals, and other required project documentation

Schedule equipment and material while coordinating with vendors
-
Coordinate with customers and subcontractors to maintain project schedules
-
Make regular visits to project sites and act as a company representative in place of the Project Manager when needed

Issue purchase orders
-
Review and approve/reject vendor invoices
-
Assist the Project Manager in project forecasting

Assist the Project Manager in preparing and submitting monthly invoices

Assist the Preconstruction team as needed

Assist with setting up projects in Procore
-
Assist the field team with maintaining production tracking and as-built documentation

Assist the Project Manager with pricing and processing change orders
-
Assist the Project Manager with making budget changes and updates
-
Assist the field team in the commissioning and closeout process
-
Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager and field team on deliveries and material management
Post-Construction
-
Assist in compiling closeout documents
-
Set up and participate in post-construction meetings
-
Ensure all company tools, connex materials, lifts, ladders, and other equipment are returned at the end of each project

Education/Certification:
-
Associate’s degree or higher preferred
-
5+ years of construction experience
-
Excellent communication and coaching skills
-
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction software; Procore preferred

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
-
Ability to successfully complete background screenings required by our customer
Physical & Work Conditions:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
-
Regular exposure to construction job sites with moderate to loud noise levels
-
Ability to work in and endure temperatures and weather conditions of all seasons, including heat, cold, rain, and wind

Combination of office and field work, with frequent site visits

May require standing, walking, climbing, and lifting in an active construction environment
