A private ultra-high-net-worth family seeks an experienced technology professional to oversee residential and office technology systems across a portfolio of homes and creative environments. Reporting to the Director of Residences, this role is responsible for ensuring that networks, audiovisual systems, automation platforms, and communications infrastructure operate seamlessly, securely, and reliably in addition to proactive system analysis and progressive
implementation of new technology.
The Director of Technology will manage day-to-day performance of all systems while guiding long-term planning, upgrades, and vendor relationships. The position works closely with the Business Office, Chief Security Officer, and external advisors to maintain strong cybersecurity standards and dependable infrastructure across multiple locations. The role also supervises a small team of on-site AV/IT technicians.
Responsibilities
· Oversee IT, networking, AV, and home automation systems across multiple properties.
· Ensure stable connectivity, system security, and consistent user experience for family and staff.
· Manage infrastructure including enterprise networking, wireless systems, hardware lifecycle, and cloud services.
· Maintain cybersecurity policies, secure remote access, and device management.
· Oversee advanced residential AV environments including theaters, distributed media, and conferencing systems.
· Lead technology upgrades, installations, and improvement projects.
· Manage vendors, consultants, and technology budgets.
· Maintain system documentation and operational standards.
Qualifications
· 7+ years managing IT and AV systems in private estates, family offices, luxury residential environments, or similar settings.
· Strong knowledge of Apple ecosystems, enterprise networking, and modern collaboration platforms.
· Experience with residential automation, distributed AV systems, and high-performance home networks.
· Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and secure cloud or hybrid environments.
· Strong organizational skills, discretion, and a service-oriented approach.
