Location: Monroe, NC
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18-19/ hour on W2 depending on experience
Position OverviewThis role supports export shipping operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and accurate documentation. The position requires coordination with freight forwarders, internal teams, and customers to facilitate timely and compliant shipments.
Key Responsibilities
Export & Shipping Coordination- Manage export shipments using freight forwarders
- Prepare and process export shipping documentation
- Review customs information (HTS, ECCN, etc.) for accuracy
- Determine proper tariff classifications in compliance with government regulations
- Coordinate shipment schedules with customer-designated freight forwarders
- Provide shipment details (weights, carton count, pallet count, dimensions)
- Distribute customs documentation via email or fax
- Review Shipper’s Export Declarations for accuracy
- Analyze shipment paperwork and respond to inquiries regarding:
- Country of Origin (COO)
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Send pre-alert documentation
- Confirm shipments in SAP
Logistics & Administrative Support- Provide logistical support to the Safety team
- Prepare estimates and shipping quotes for sales and marketing teams
- Verify shipments meet compliance standards
- Validate accuracy of all customs-related information
Administrative Duties- Provide general administrative support (filing, data entry, scheduling, etc.)
- Maintain records and documentation
- Coordinate meetings and communications
- Manage incoming/outgoing correspondence and supplies
- Support special projects involving data collection, analysis, and reporting
QualificationsRequired:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Some college education
- Familiarity with Lotus Notes
Work Environment- Works with moderate supervision
- Expected to identify issues and escalate when necessary
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
