WDC Cargo Kitting Lead
Tellworks, a growing 3PL provider, is currently seeking a Cargo Kitting Lead in our USA Parkway warehouse.
Shift Schedule:
Monday- Friday 1000AM- 630PM
Position Summary
The Cargo Kitting Lead is responsible for overseeing Cargo and kitting operations within the West Distribution Center (WDC). This role ensures that all kitting activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with customer and company standards. The Lead will provide direction to drivers, monitor productivity, and ensure quality and safety expectations are consistently met.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily cargo/ kitting operations, ensuring all kits are assembled accurately and on time
- Assign tasks and monitor workflow to meet production targets and deadlines
- Train, coach, and mentor kitting associates on processes, quality standards, and safety procedures
- Perform quality checks to ensure kits meet customer specifications and compliance requirements
- Identify gaps, and implement process improvements
- Coordinate with inventory control to ensure materials are available and properly staged
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, shortages, and discrepancies
- Validate completeness and accuracy of finished cargo orders
- Communicate with transportation team and operations to support cargo load departure
- Using system tools to create task related to cargo picking and kitting
- Communicate effectively with management regarding daily performance, staffing needs, and operational challenges
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
- Assist with scheduling, staffing coverage, and shift handoffs as needed
- Trouble shooting / problem solving / SME
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, or kitting operations required
- Prior leadership or lead experience preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory processes and material handling
- Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
Physical Demands
- Must be able to move about the warehouse to access product, machinery and assist others
- Must be able to stand 10 hours a day
- Must be able to move and place cartons on pallets weighing up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to bend downward using legs at knee
- Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange accurate information
