We are a leading global manufacturer of electrical interconnects and power distribution solutions. Our North American Headquarters is located in Central New Jersey directly off Route 287 is where we maintain significant “on-time” inventory of electrical interconnects that are produced in our factory in Germany. In addition, we are a UL Listed assembly operation that manufactures portable power distribution, control panels, and power cable assemblies. Due to our rapid growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Director of Sales to join our team.
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and developing the company’s sales organization, including Outside Sales Managers, Inside Sales, Independent Sales Representatives, Field Marketing Manager and the Interconnect Product Specialist. This role will manage strategic customer relationships, drive sales performance, oversee budgeting, forecasting and distribution/channel partner business, enhance the effectiveness of trade shows, and execute growth strategies aligned with company goals. The Director of Sales will serve as a key member of the leadership team and report directly to the VP/General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide direction, coaching, and leadership to Regional Sales Managers, Inside Sales, Independent Sales Contractors, and the Interconnect Product Specialist.
- Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations across the sales organization.
- Build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, execution, and customer satisfaction.
- Support training, development, and onboarding efforts for all sales personnel.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the VP/General Manager on long-term sales planning, territory alignment, and resource allocation.
- Manage and grow relationships with the company’s core key customers, including regular onsite visits and strategic business reviews.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Create, communicate, and manage annual sales budgets for direct teams and independent reps.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasting and performance reporting.
- Partner with Purchasing, Accounting and Operations to ensure accurate planning related to demand, inventory, and profitability.
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the executive point of contact for major customers and strategic accounts.
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and high-level account planning.
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels and ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain sales metrics and reporting tools to track sales performance.
- Provide regular updates to the VP/General Manager on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure data accuracy within CRM and other sales-management platforms.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field required.
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing, interconnect products, or related technical industries.
- Experience managing direct reports, independent sales reps, and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and building strong customer relationships.

- High proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
- Ability to travel as needed to key account customer sites, trade shows, and sales team locations throughout the country.
Work Environment & Travel
- Office-based environment.
- Travel required (approx. 25-30%), including overnight stays for key account customer visits, distributor participation in trade shows and regional sales manager visits.
