We are seeking an experienced NDT Technician with a strong background in aircraft wheels and brakes to join our team and support one of our aviation clients.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Florida. The NDT Technician will perform inspections on aircraft wheels, brakes, and related components using approved non‑destructive testing methods to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has recent MRO or component shop experience and preferably holds an A&P license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform non‑destructive testing (NDT) on aircraft wheels, brakes, and associated components using approved methods (e.g., PT, MT, ET, UT as applicable).
- Conduct detailed visual inspections to identify cracks, corrosion, wear, and other defects.
- Interpret indications and compare results to OEM specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Accurately document inspection results in work orders, reports, and digital systems.
- Ensure NDT equipment is properly set up, calibrated, and maintained in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate with shop leads, quality, and engineering to resolve discrepancies and recommend repair, rework, or rejection.
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures in the shop environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an NDT Technician in an aviation environment, preferably in a component or MRO shop.
- Current or recent certification in at least one NDT method (e.g., NAS‑410 / EN4179 Level I or II in PT, MT, ET, or UT – adjust as needed).
- Strong understanding of aircraft component inspection practices and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, repair specifications, and technical drawings.
- High attention to detail, strong safety mindset, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
- Experience specifically with major wheel and brake OEMs.
- Previous experience in landing gear, wheels & brakes, or component overhaul facilities
