We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our hardware development team. In this role, you will be responsible for thermal analysis, sheet metal design, and chassis development for high-performance networking and electronic systems. You will collaborate closely with electrical, thermal, manufacturing, and system engineering teams to deliver robust and manufacturable mechanical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thermal analysis and simulations to ensure optimal cooling and reliability of electronic systems.
- Design and develop sheet metal components and chassis assemblies for networking hardware and embedded systems.
- Conduct CFD thermal simulations, airflow optimization, and heat dissipation analysis.
- Develop mechanical designs for racks, enclosures, and chassis meeting structural and thermal requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams including EE, thermal, and manufacturing engineers to ensure design feasibility and performance.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and documentation.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability & Assembly).
- Troubleshoot thermal and mechanical issues during development and product qualification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in thermal analysis for electronic systems.
- Strong experience in sheet metal design and chassis development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar).
- Knowledge of thermal simulation tools (ANSYS, Icepak, FloTHERM, or equivalent).
- Understanding of heat transfer, airflow, and cooling techniques for electronics.
- Experience with tolerance analysis, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing networking hardware, servers, or telecom equipment.
- Knowledge of rack systems, airflow management, and high-density electronics packaging.
- Familiarity with prototype builds, environmental testing, and reliability validation.
- Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments.
