Job Summary
The System Administrator I supports the deployment, configuration, and daily management of cloud infrastructure, endpoint management tools, and Microsoft 365 services under close guidance. The role focuses on completing assigned operational tasks, maintaining system reliability, and assisting with basic troubleshooting across hybrid environments that include AWS, Azure, and modern device management through Intune. This position requires the ability to follow established procedures, document work clearly, and learn new technologies while contributing to the team’s overall service delivery.
This role works to achieve operational targets under close supervision. Requires the ability to explain facts, policies and practices related to the area of work. Problems faced are generally not difficult or complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.
Responsibilities
Typical job responsibilities of the System Administrator I include:
- Assist with provisioning and configuring basic cloud resources in AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms under supervision.
- Perform routine tasks such as updating configurations, managing storage, and checking system health.
- Support monitoring, backup activities, and disaster recovery routines as directed.
- Follow documented procedures to support infrastructure automation efforts.
- Assist in device lifecycle tasks (setup, enrollment, compliance checks) for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
- Apply configuration profiles, security baselines, and compliance policies following established guidelines.
- Support application deployment and updates through Intune.
- Troubleshoot basic device enrollment and compliance issues with guidance.
- Assist in administering Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, including basic user provisioning and permissions updates.
- Follow established processes for licensing and group management.
- Support identity and access tasks related to Azure AD / Entra ID, such as MFA or conditional access configurations.
- Monitor system performance dashboards and escalate issues when anomalies appear.
- Respond to service requests and low-complexity incidents following standard operating procedures.
- Assist with patching and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and operational workflows.
- Participate in change management by preparing basic documentation or performing assigned change tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.
- Basic understanding of identity management, MFA, and conditional access.
- Functional knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, VPN, firewalls).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to improve performance.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer information systems or similar field preferred.
- Typically requires less than 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience administering AWS and Azure environments a plus.
- Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience a plus.
- Experience with scripting a plus (PowerShell preferred).
- Experience with backup, DR, and monitoring tools
- Experience with automation (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation) a plus.
- Security framework familiarity a plus.
- Experience with hybrid identity (AD Connect / Entra ID) a plus.
- Microsoft or AWS certifications a plus.
- Experience supporting compliance-driven environments preferred
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- This position is based out of the BKV Office in Denver, CO, Fort Worth, TX or Houston, TX. Remote or hybrid work will be considered.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with standard business hours; extended hours may be required depending on business needs. May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.

Compensation
Base Salary: $61,000 to 112,000
Short-term Incentive Target: 15%
