Position Description
You will serve as a MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the design and development of jigs, fixtures, special tools, and test equipment to meet the requirements determined by the needs of the requesting shop or facility.
- You will provide complete drawings and specifications for manufacture, modification, or procurement of the equipment.
- You will provide technical assistance to the local shop or contracting personnel when requested during manufacture or procurement.
- You will determine overhaul tolerance and limit of acceptability, and test and inspection procedures for production operations, and prepare correspondence, engineering reports, and directives relative to the overhaul, repair, and testing of the item.
- You will investigate and report findings and remedial recommendations relative to failure of ground support equipment as directed by the authority in control of the item.
