Senior Manager, Supply Chain (Manufacturing)

About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Manager of Supply Chain to lead end-to-end supply chain operations for a high-volume manufacturing site. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across planning, procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier management, while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure uninterrupted production and best-in-class service levels.
This is a hands-on leadership role with full accountability for site-level supply chain performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end supply chain execution for a manufacturing facility, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and production scheduling
- Lead direct procurement activities, ensuring material availability, supplier performance, and cost discipline
- Drive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP / SIOP) processes to balance demand, supply, capacity, and inventory
- Establish and track KPIs and performance metrics related to service levels, inventory health, forecast accuracy, and supplier reliability
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to support:
- New product introductions
- Product lifecycle transitions
- Capacity and long-range planning
- Identify risks across the supply chain and lead mitigation strategies to prevent production or service disruptions
- Lead, develop, and mentor a multi-functional supply chain team
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with enterprise strategy
- Serve as the primary escalation point for supply chain issues impacting operations or customer commitments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 10-12+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading S&OP / SIOP processes
- Strong background in:
- Procurement and supplier management
- Inventory planning in complex, regulated environments
- Cross-functional leadership within matrixed organizations
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or comparable platforms preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change
- Experience in regulated industries (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar) strongly preferred
Preferred Experience
- Global manufacturing or supply network exposure
- Experience managing serialized, batch-controlled, or shelf-life-constrained inventory
- Lean, Six Sigma, APICS (CSCP/CPIM), or similar certifications
- Master's degree or MBA
