Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience/combined education.
- This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
- Understanding of procedures, work instructions, technical writing or similar with technical publications.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, schematics, and specifications.
- Independent problem solver

Job Description
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Manufacturing Engineer for a position at the Mechanical Manufacturing Center (MMC), located on the Waterton Campus in Littleton, Colorado.
The MMC Manufacturing Engineering team supports a variety of production areas, including additive manufacturing, traditional machining, mechanism assembly, composite fabrication, and structural assembly. The chosen candidate would join our collaborative team with a primary focus in traditional machining.
Scope Of Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process for a specific program or production area.
- Accomplish results by utilizing multi-functional team, including Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, MRP/Parts Production Control, and Planning/Scheduling to meet program needs
- Providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome.
- Creating procedures and operations for the fabrication and/or rework of hardware.
- Translate engineering drawings and parts lists into easy-to-follow work instructions for the production floor.
- Writing production planning, inspecting and assessing defective hardware, and optimizing production flow to meet program deliverables.
- Interfacing with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements to gain efficiencies and represent manufacturing in peer reviews of engineering drawings to enhance the design for manufacturability.
- Contact with immediate supervisor or lead, project leaders, and other personnel in the section or group.
Desired Skills
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent processes (Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Q-Notes, FOE/FOD, etc.)
- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space Systems or industry equivalent tools (ERP/SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc.)
- Previous Machine shop experience
- Understanding and application of fundamental GD&T principals
- Ability to collaborate with multiple job functions
- Experience with design for manufacturing
