We have an exciting opportunity for EMT-Basic in Texas. This is a great opportunity for seasoned EMTs interested in contract work.
Paramedic Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency medical assistance, such as CPR or bandaging a wound
- Quickly and efficiently assess a patient’s condition and determine the best course of treatment in collaboration with the paramedic on board.
- Transport patients safely in an ambulance
- Provide first aid or life support to patients who are sick or injured
- Transfer patients to the emergency area of the hospital or other healthcare facility
- Report what they saw and did to doctors, nurses or other healthcare staff
- Document what kind of medical treatment was given to the patient from the moment of arriving at the scene to transferring the patient to the healthcare facility
- Replace, clean and buy inventory of supplies and equipment
- Maintaining vehicles, stations, and communication and medical equipment.
- Decontaminate the ambulance interior following the treatment of a patient with an infectious disease, and report the case to the proper authorities.

- 12 Hour-Shifts
- AM and PM shifts available
- Base pay: $18/hr
- OT: $27/hr.
- Biweekly pay schedule
- You will be assisting a private EMS company doing inter-facility transfers and responding to 911 calls
- Call volume: 6-10 calls per shift. IFTs and or 911 calls. Calls might average 1.5 - 2.5 hours
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs individually without restrictions, and manage 200–300 lbs safely with a partner.
- Skilled in bending, kneeling, and crawling on uneven terrain as required in emergency response environments.
- Capable of sitting, bending, and standing for extended periods while maintaining focus and readiness.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs from ground to waist level repeatedly during routine and emergency operations.
- Strong ability to coordinate closely with team members and perform effectively in high-stress situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Highly adaptable, able to take direction and adjust to changing situations and job duties in dynamic field environments.
- Experienced with MICU-level transports, including IV pump management, ventilator operation, and cardiac monitoring. (Not required for EMT but preferred.)
- Proficient in operating emergency vehicles for extended hours, both during daytime and nighttime/darkness conditions.
Required Skills:
- Compact State EMT-B license/ or Texas EMT License
- Local Residents (Preferred)
- BLS, PALS, and ACLS Certifications
- At Least 3 years of experience with IFTs or 911
- At least 3 years of experience driving an ambulance
- Include experience driving for extended hours under varying conditions, including both daytime and nighttime operations
