About the Role
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the plant, with direct leadership of Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams, and indirect oversight of Shipping and Receiving. This position plays a key role in shaping the site's strategy, optimizing processes, and building a high‑performing leadership bench.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day plant operations to achieve high standards in safety, product integrity, on‑time production, and cost efficiency.
- Create and execute yearly operational priorities while developing long‑term plans for capacity, growth, and future technology needs.
- Develop strong leaders by coaching, supporting, and empowering managers to deliver consistent, high‑quality results.
- Champion operational excellence by promoting problem‑solving, innovation, and ongoing process improvement throughout the facility.
- Direct all aspects of workforce management, including recruiting, performance evaluations, training, and long‑term talent planning.
- Oversee financial performance for the site, including budget ownership, cost forecasting, capital expenditures, and operational savings initiatives.
- Work in close partnership with cross‑functional teams such as Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, HR, and Finance to support business objectives.
- Represent the facility and the operations function in interactions with internal leadership, partners, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Business, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years in a USDA‑regulated, frozen, or refrigerated food manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success leading multi‑line operations and managing complex equipment and capacity demands.
- Proven leadership with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong operational insight and financial acumen.
- Ability to partner effectively across all organizational levels and functions.
