Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in manufacturing and mechanical design. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both engineering design work and practical application on the shop floor, and who wants to contribute to product development from concept through prototyping and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and refinement of mechanical components and systems using CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Assist with prototype building, testing, and validation of new designs.
- Participate in design reviews, communicate ideas, and integrate feedback into product iterations.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to solve mechanical problems, including basic analysis and troubleshooting.
- Work alongside manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability (DFM).
- Prepare technical documentation such as drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and assembly instructions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor and contribute practical insights from hands-on manufacturing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1–5 years of mechanical engineering experience, internships, co-ops, senior projects, or practical work experience in manufacturing and design.
- Hands-on background in manufacturing environments and familiarity with fabrication processes.
- Experience with CAD software and ability to generate 3D models and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience building and testing prototypes, including use of machine shop tools or rapid prototyping techniques.
- Knowledge of basic engineering analysis (stress, tolerance, etc.) and GD&T fundamentals.
- Interest in product lifecycle development and continuous improvement methodologies.
